Feathers at the Cloisters
Autumn is my favorite time of year, I love spooky season, I love the colors, I love wearing costumes, and I love the excuse to make things I wouldn’t normally make. Like this feather scarf, for instance.
I love feathers and wanted a way to incorporate them into my wardrobe in the colder seasons—when it’s too cold to wear my feather hats. So, I made myself a scarf.
This dress is vintage from about the 80s and looks like it might have been a choir dress. I altered it to make a scoop neckline.
I love the Cloisters, it’s one of my favorite parts of the city and I love that it’s so close to home. My favorite display is the beautiful hand painted and inscripted books, some of which could fit in the palm of my tiny baby hands.
Right after we took these pictures we got in trouble for shooting fashion photography. I remember saying to the security guard, “Awe this isn’t a fashion shoot, it’s just how I dress.”
